My cat won't poop in the litter box?

My cat always pees in her litter box but doesn't like to poop in it. She has been this way for as long as I can remember. She is 7 years old. She always does it at night when I' sleeping or not at home. She poops in the same spots usually. On the mat in the bathroom or the rugs by the front door. She occasionally poops on my boyfriends shoes if he leaves them by the door.(She has done this longer than he has been my boyfriend). When I am at home and she needs to poop, she whines constantly until I have to direct her to her litter box. Only then will she use it. She also perches on the box to poop, yet she gets in it to pee. I've had enough of this behavior as this happens everyday now. I've changed the box, the litter, and her box is cleaned daily. Does anyone know what I can do to get her to stop?
