If i braid my hair for a very long time...?

if i was to braid my hair for a very long time, maybe like everyday for a year or two... would it become permanently curly/wavy? I'm sick of my straight hair, 0 volume and even messy it looks better curly, because i have an oilier scalp that makes straight hair look disgusting but curly hair just maintains a nice shape and bounce.
