Braid Help............!!?

Hi I have a bob that stops about an ince to two. Inces above my chin. My hair is cut in several layers that vary in size from, short and medium, I would simply love to have a beautiful braid, one single braid . Not multiple just one beautiful, simple, elegant braid. I would like one perhaps a french braid, I don`t want cornrows or anything like that, please give me directions to help me accomplish that, please help me work around the layers and make a simply beautiful braid!
